Predictions for Day Three of the Slater Wildcat Classic

All right, we’ll be at the halfway point after tonight, and the matchups are only going to get better as the week progresses. What’s in store for tonight? Take a look

No. 8 Fayette (G) vs. No. 5 Sacred Heart (4:30 p.m. tip-off): Based on last night’s outcomes, Fayette will play three teams this week they haven’t seen previously this season. I remember two years ago when Fayette played Slater five times in one season. Some fresh faces are in store for the Lady Falcons this evening. Prediction: Sacred Heart 46, Fayette 30.

No. 8 Fayette (B) vs. No. 4 Pilot Grove (6 p.m. tip-off): If Pilot Grove shoots lights out, this game could get out of hand in a hurry. The Falcons just need a good performance tonight, and if they reach 50 points, I’ll consider that a good performance. Prediction: Pilot Grove 69, Fayette 51.

No. 4 Slater (G) vs. No. 1 Glasgow (7:30 p.m. tip-off): These two teams met back in December, in the third-place game of the Glasgow Tournament. From what I remember, that wasn’t one of Glasgow’s better games. Now playing on Slater’s home floor, the Lady Jackets will need one of their better games. Prediction: Glasgow 57, Slater 47.

No. 5 Glasgow (B) vs. No. 1 Sacred Heart (9 p.m. tip-off): This is the most talented Sacred Heart team I’ve ever seen. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Gremlins start the season 29-0 before meeting West Platte in the Class 2 state quarterfinals. On the other hand, don’t be surprised if Glasgow finds a way to play Sacred Heart close in this contest. Prediction: Sacred Heart 66, Glasgow 46.
